New ‘belt in oil’ kits from Gates

In early summer 2023, one of our premium parts suppliers, Gates, announced innovations for a number of their belt-in-oil components. These are just the first of a running change of parts from Gates in the belt-in-oil category.

The new belts and metal components will now have improved OE performance and all future products will benefit from the same innovative features.

Gates’ products all benefit from their long experience of Wet Timing drives in Automotive and Industrial markets.

We really like this kind of innovation as these belts will be more stable over their life-in-oil environment. Other benefits include …

2. Maximized tooth load carry and lower belt elongation for enhanced lifetime safety.
3. Improved belt back resistance.

That will all result in an estimated improved dynamic lifetime up to 30% and a reduced belt width swelling over time.
